Hi guys,i ve been having some sort of humming and grinding noise coming from rear of my car,the sound is so aggresive when coming to a stop or approaching a robot, over 120k/h i can feel vibrations on my seat and footwell,i took the car to brilliant mechanical workshop suspecting a bearing cud be a culprit, bearings checked ohk according to brilliant, and they said the rear left wheel was buckled, thats why the car is making a noise,so this morning i decided to buy a new rim and tire ,but the damn noise s still there, now m frustrated, please assist guys

Its your diff that's gone bust.

Happened on my 323i, that humming grinding noise.

A rim will not make that noise unless you have a blowout and drive on the rim.

Coming to a stop sounds like rotors, over 120kmh sounds like a rim out of round. Take it to tire shop to have a look, might be a center bearing on propshaft as well.

Prop was checked and ohk, brilliant mech serviced my diff couple of days ago,my best bet was the bearing, now m thinking of setting this car alight...

Get another place to check the dif and sideshaft as well as rotors and pads, those are your only culprits if you say that the bearing was already replaced

Noises while the wheel turns like grinding etc.. should be easy to locate at any tyre shop

What you described sounds like an issue with the diff.

Will the diff make a noise when the car is in neutral ,or if the engine is not running and car rolling rolling downhill?the noise is there wether the car is neutral ,i tried rolling it down the hill with engine not running but the noise is still there

Hi guys, problem is sorted, culprit, all my rims were badly buckled, causing a car sound like a helicopter followed by heavy vibrations.

I'm in the same boat. Luckily for wheel collision. Having all 4 rims refurbished. Amazing how a slight buckle can make it feel like a huge problem
