Those are desirable, for sure. I would think that rather LCI manual models will be likely to appreciate the most, purely on the basis that they are so rare.

I also have a funny feeling that manual LCI sedans (E90) might also be quite sought after in the future due to them being rare.

So do you think that I should hold on to my E90 Silverstone 2008 (full house) with 75k on the clock or upgrade to newer spec?:dunno:

Did we get any LCI E90 manual Ms in SA?
Never seen or heard of one before.

Based on the OP's question, I would say E92 would hold the best value.

My guess based on the e36 would be that coupe, late model and probably manual would be most valuable...

Two door M's are always more desirable than the four door IMHO. LCI is always better as well.

I rate one can also eliminate the convertible for all purist collectors.

Further to this discussio Ill mention something that is singlehandedly the most important factors for me:

1. FSH
2. Original, ie: no cosmetic and/or performance mods
3. Low km.
4. No accident damage

One can already see that E46 M3 examples that adhere to the above is VERY hard to come by. In a few years it undoubtably will be the same for the E92.

The manuals are easier to maintain I agree, and won't be outdated in comparison to the DCTs. But I feel the manual wasn't suited to the car, having had four E92 M3s in the family, the gear selector wasn't very sporty, felt rather bland in my opinion. The gears were long and with no low down torque, you found yourself getting annoyed at the manual. The car as a whole seems to have been designed with the DCT box from the beginning, with the manual being an after thought for the "purist".

From my experience.

Not an LCI, the owner just changed the tail lights to the LCI tail lights

Crap, you’re right. This is what happens when there are no interior pics ;)

I’m inclined to agree with you. However the manuals will still most likely be the winner in terms of future appreciation, simply because they will be more rare, and manuals in general are a dying breed.
