That bit of road is extremely bumpy from what I remember, probably unsettled the car bad.
So its not a write off?

Oh no.

Sorry to hear.

Did this happen while all the warning lights were still on? ABS,DSC not working?

Not at that time Ford. All systems were working 100%.

Doesn't seem like it's going to be Kimeran. It depends on what the retail value of the car is.

Ok, so insurance papers submitted to the assessors. Now the anxious wait begins.

Went through to Lyndhurst to have a look at the car, the estimator there reckons it's actually not too bad and relatively cheap for an M. How nice for him!

Anyways, now that I've seen the car in the light, it's not as bad as I expected, but the list of repairs is extensive.

Car was parked in an awkward spot, but managed to get a couple of pics of the damage. Front has already been disassembled so they could check the bumper runners etc.

Yes I know my car is dirty. Was supposed to be getting detailed this weekend. Guess that's going to wait a while. Most of the damage is under the car as would be expected. But 3 refurbished rims and a brand new one at R15000, ouch.

Shame bud this breaks my heart! Can happen so quickly with these beasts! I did the same thing in my Mustang GT trying to beat a robot in the rain in the states but managed to miss everything including a pavement and ended up on the grass with a few scratched rims! But live rear axle....

Hope she gets repaired quickly and back in the garage! She is a beauty!

Properly sad state.
Sorry bro.

Let's hope that's everything then and it gets sorted 100%.

Autobahn ARC usually does some great work. They did my 125i as well as my brothers 530d.

Thanks guys. I'm not feeling as despondent as I was last night or this morning. She's going to be gone for a while, so I'll see if I can start a build thread from the ARC, if they'll let me. The upside is the car is going to be brilliant when I get it back, and not driving it for nearly two months will be worth the wait.

Also I am glad there's no write off. There is something about this car that just soothes my brow (well other than last night). As discussed with a1exander on the phone earlier, the car is like a woman sitting at a dinner table getting angrier and angrier until she reaches out and stabs you in the hand with a fork. I'd hate to lose my car. There's just something special about it.

Ha-ha, my car is a women too! Keeps sucking money out me, looks good when cleaned up, drives me mad I gotta keeping refueling her, but all so worth it when she lets you ride her.
Glad to hear she will be repaired and live on.

Thanks Wes. Again I cannot praise the car enough no matter how hard it bit me. It taught me a lesson. All I can say is respect your car's guys. Doesn't matter how much you think you know it, there's always that small factor that can bite you when you least expect it. Be safe peoples.

Thanks Terrence and Fuzz. I was hoping it would maybe buff out but I don't think it will  not even with Menzerna and some cutting compound :roflol:

She'll get sorted Terrence, I'll be pretty upset if it isn't, but you're right. At least I've had the car. Assessors will be going out today, so holding thumbs.

Fuzz, if I'd gone forwards I think I would've landed up in the parking lot and not just landed up in the fence. I have to say that the guys at Cedar Isle Auto were very good when I approached them, insisting it was just a fence and making sure I was ok, so big up to them. I've dealt with them before and always been happy with the service I've received from them. Luckily insurance will cover the fence.

So today is D Day guys, cross fingers my baby doesn't get written off.

Well on the bright side, you could've gotten close-up pics of the M4s on display at night haha! But on a serious note, could have been a lot worse, but glad that it didn't turn out that way :bravo:
