I dont see why not. The condition looks to reflect that mileage.
Best would be to get service history from bmw, that should give you history till 2015 atleast. That should give you a indication to whether the mileage is legitimate.

Check it out thoroughly

Inspectacar is one of those places where I paid school fees at many many years ago. It doesn't matter that their cars are 'inspected' or that they are linked to WesBank. If anything, it makes them more suspect. You are no better off dealing with Inspectacar IMHO than any other random independent dealer.

Being in good condition means nothing conclusive. It is easy to spot rolled back mileage on a car with a trashed interior BUT a well looked after car will present well even at higher mileages. You could roll back the mileage on my M5 to 60000km and 80% of people would probably believe it.

The school fees I paid was in the form of believing the very extensive report that they give you and not having the mileage independently checked. I went through the car myself after the fact and found many discrepancies (even to the degree that the car had the wrong engine number). The car should technically not have passed a roadworthy but had a 101pt check, COR and a manufacturer report. Turned out the manufacturer report was totally fake. Went back, gave them a report back and evidence. After playing the usual dealership games their solution was to refund me a portion of the money and fix the motor reg,.. which they somehow did without requiring the car back at their premises or another RWC... They explained away the manufacturer report as being on the conscience of the previous owner who had provided it to them like that...

In hindsight I should have insisted on the deal being reversed. This is why I sometimes seem harsh when guys come with too-good-to-be-true deals or people have delusions of how issues are minor. Same with believing every word out of a salesman's mouth and thinking they are your friends... Look that gift-horse in the mouth, count its teeth, check its legs and back - even check the bugger's prostate! Make sure you're not being sold a donkey!

It is also why I am difficult to sell a car to... Once you're in a deal EVEN IF YOU HAVE THE HIGH GROUND it is an absolute MISSION to wind things back. Maybe it is easier now with the NCA, I don't know, but don't put yourself in that position.

Pay for the BMW check if you are serious about it and get Coisman to do a check as well. You must choose the dealer and you must pay unfortunately or else you will risk getting a fake report. Over and above this find someone with a Carly or other tool that might be able to detect mileage tampering.

Yeah I also don’t think a 323i is worth 180k regardless of mileage.

I tend to agree. I’m all for a premium being paid for uncharacteristically low mileage, but a base-spec 323i is really not all that desirable to begin.

Not to mention it's gonna be just as "kak" as every other 323i once the mileage racks up.

Depreciation on this specific car is going to hurt your colleague, OP.
