E90 Help

I don't know, I have no experience with Lisa Bank cars, but the cars from them, that I did look at, didn't do it for me.

Why not give them a call and request the vin?

Anyone that can give me more insight on the E90. I am looking at the 320d, 320i, 323i and 325i in the pre facelift and facelift need help deciding on one that has a bit of performance and reliability.

Out of those 4 models I will choose the

E90 - 320d ,due to the performance torque almost on par with the 330i and fuel economy isnt bad like you will trail around the 6 - 8L/100km range in mixed traffic.

E90 - 320i, definitely a no no as this is the slowest :sorry: of all of the BMW's here. You should have picked up on our 320i discussion thread

E90 - 323i / 325i, these are nice cars. Power and torque is ok, although they will be beaten by the 320d on pull away and slaughtered till around the 130km/h range area where the hp of the 6 cyl will make the diesel wish he had never came. I love the noise of the 6 cyl and is one thing I am not willing to offer up for fuel economy.

As said above I will preferably go for the 320d as it will give you the best smile and fuel economy from the 4 above. Pre-lci will be cheaper, most of the parts except for the lights, bonnet, grill and bumpers will be the same so you can go for either if age isnt a big concern. As far as reliability goes, it all depends on the actual individual car you get and how the previous owners have treated it. There are always the common things that will go like tyres, front bushings etc. So drive the car and see what you like and go from there.

Golden nugget, try and see if you cant get the 330d as this is the best of all 4 the above combined.

Hope this helps, remember that you can tweak and improve a turbo one but the n/a isnt really anything that you can do to boost the performance.

Thanks, those 330d are very hard to find in my price range. I am a bit scared of the 320d as I have heard about the N47 Timing chain issue is has.

Just remember that all of the cars has some sort of Lemon history, like the 320i with its valve seals and the 330i with its water pump issue, the 335i with its HPFP issue, N52 motor with its hydraulic lifter ticking noise, M3 with its bearing issue

My point being, you know about it so then do a preventative measure with that and replace it before it can occur. But again, just shop around and see what there is, look at the car, maintenance of the car, and maybe get someone with a diagnostic tool and some experience too see the car with you.

None of these problems happens overnight, they come with time and there are signs to them. But yes, you are right in all of the bmw's have problems but there are people who has had no problems.

Don't let this set you off from buying the one you want, just plan for it by doing a preventative maintenance when you budget allow.

Hey Buddy

I bought my wife the E90 323i LCI.
It is a great vehicle. It isn't a pocket rocket from robot to robot but it happily cruises 220km/h and above on the open road.

It has great amount of torque as well.
Some people have complained about the oil consumption on the 6 cylinder petrol engine. I have noticed that if you drive it " SPIRITEDLY" it does use a bit of oil. My wifes vehicle has 87 000km on it only thing I have replaced is the shocks on the vehicle.

Fuel consumption around town my wife averages 10.5km/l and open road she is getting 14km/l.

I get the same 10.5 km/L in the traffic and 13.3 km/L on the open road with my E90 330i pre-lci. So if you are buying the bigger ones, 6 pot's that is, then buy the one you like as all of them do about the same fuel consumption.

The 320d is the best of the bunch, reliability, performance and good fuel consumption. Mine has done 208000kms, with no major issues, regular service and clutch when needed. Only issue now is turbo actuator, still the original turbo. Pound for pound you won't find a more all round car.

My consumption is sitting on 7.1, mixed driving, and I have software, downpipe and full exhaust, that's pretty impressive if you ask me.
