E90 FUEL PUMP

Good day fanatics, I'm back again cause my car is still not fixed. I had a problem with my car cranking long and when I had it diagnosed the EKP module (fuel pump module) came up. I've had it replaced 3 times and the car still wont start and the same error still comes up.
The 1st time I replaced it, the car started but wouldn't idle smoothly, I then went back to change it and this time the car had a smooth idle. The next day the car wouldn't start again, just long crank. I then replaced the module AGAIN, for the 3rd time and the car still wont start.
Now my question is,
1. Could it be possible that my problem is the fuel pump itself?
2. If it is the fuel pump, would I get the EKP module error pop up?

PLEASE HELP, I'M DESPERATE..

where did you have it replaced , it can be the module isnt picking up the same voltage signature as the original pumps, if its aftermarket pump or a newer model/older model some errors could occur

I bought the module from MD HOUSE a BMW scrapyard and my mechanic installed it.
Would you suggest I have the module programed so everything lines up?

im no mechanic , but if its possible that might help , otherwise try finding a pump that was made to run with the specific model of module you got...

I had a similar issue with long crank starts a while ago, they eventually replaced the fuel pressure regulator which sorted out the long crank/no start. maybe worth checking that

Thank you sir, I will check it out. Would you be able to tell me how to test to see if its good or not?

Just an update on the problem I had on my E90. My car would not start, just a long crank and the diagnosis said its the EKP module which I changed 3 times, I also changed the fuel pump and crank shaft sensor but still the car wouldn't start. It turns out that the problem was the COMPUTER BOX which had water damage. I'm trying to figure out how the water got in.

Common problem which affects LCI E90 from what I understand. No sure about pre LCI

There's a drain hole in the box that shrouds the DME/DDE which sometimes gets blocked causing the computer board to sit in water for long periods of time.

I'm not sure who can fix these, but I know there are many guys around. Cheapest solution would be to get a secondhand unit and have it fitted and programmed

Perhaps try Gert at OBDWorx, I've seen many great comments for them

I spoke to Gert yesterday and he says the box can't be fixed which sucks, he suggested I replace it with a second hand 1 which comes programmed already, costs a lot though..

Sorry, never saw this reply.

Did you come right in the end?

I think sometimes the boxes can be saved while at other times they get stuffed completely
