E90 exterior door handle replacement cost?

Hi guys. Sadly misjudged a pillar when reversing and seriously scratched the passenger side door handle. The scrape/scratch seems rather deep. I can see the handle seems to be made up of 3 parts. I've damaged the parts that face out wards, i.e. the long piece that faces your wrist when you open the door and the square piece you would rest your thumb on.

I'm going to see if a repsray can fix this but I'm thinking replacing would be better. Anyone know the price for a silver door handle?

Thanks guys.

Hello folks

Went to BMW Sandton and it seems replacing the exterior door handle isn't necessary. It is recommended to rather get it sprayed at a panel beaters.

My question now is this: if I get this done at a place I choose, would it void my motorplan?

When I asked this of 2 people at BMW Sandton, their response wasn't a very clear yes/no, more a 'it would be better to take it to an approved BMW place, so it is done properly'. To be honest, I've seen some amazing work at a place in Morningside that isn't BMW approved.

Your thoughts guys?
=)

My advise would be to take it to an approved repair centre to have the damage repaired.
Your car is still under MP and you don't want these morons at the dealerships repudiating a MP claim by saying that you had work done on the car that was not carried out by an approved repairer.
I learned the hard way:flyfun:

HI MBL. Was it extensive work that was done? I've called BMW SA customer service and they say that if I do go to a non-approved panel beater, it wouldn't void my maintenance plan, but I'd have to get vehicle inspected by BMW after the work is done to ensure it was a quality job......therefore paying twice.

Hmmm....I would agree fully if there was an actual structural problem that needed addressing before spraying, but this is just paintwork.
