Thanks ShaunB. I did contact them. The guy couldn't tell me what brands they have available, but mentioned they were German brands. One for R1800 and the other for R2600. I am not too sure what to make of it if he is not able to confirm the brand.

I have purchased and fitted 3 of their pulleys and have not had those clients come back as yet with complaints, this was 2 years ago. Opted for the more expensive one, then it was R2200.

I don't mean to hijack the post, but thought I could add on here with my question instead of starting yet another e90 Crank Pulley post.

I'm planning to change mine out now as preventative maintenance. I'm sitting on just under 150k km's on the original pulley. It seems fine...but probably safest to change out.

I'm stuck between purchasing a BPR branded pulley from GW @ R3600 or R7000 for an original one from BMW?

What are your thoughts? Anybody have experience with the BPR branded pulley?

I've heard of this thing that you need to change the Alternator pulley for warranty purposes but the chap I spoke to at JSN said he has never heard of changing that out....and apparently doesn't have the part listed for my 2011?
Nonsense but one should replace the belts.

I've had 3 of these go on me on both my 320ds and my 330d. They seem perfect and nothing wrong and then you start the car hear a thud in the engine bay and have no power steering. At 150k kms it's not a bad idea to change the pulley. Or atleast have the part in your car so you're not stuck in some random town without access to parts.

Spent the last 2 weeks sourcing pulleys for the X3 and e90.
Phoned like 10 goldwagens and been to 4 of their stores.
Finally have what I was looking for, bought the last one from Wynberg and Carnival, both BBR.

The n47 and 47t use 2 different types also.

Guy at the Edenvale GW explained that the alternator pulley sometimes has an issue and this puts extra load on the crank pulley hence it breaks.

Talking about pulleys, i just remembered that the one sales guy told me to replace the power steering or alternator pulley (cannot remember which) with a clutch type pulley which allows the tension on the belt and pulleys to spread the shock on start up and idling on the diesels (and petrol) i assume. Apparently it lengthens the life of all the pulleys. I did not buy it but was wondering if any one out there is aware of this and if the reasoning behind it is true? :fencelook:
