e90 Cup Holder Stuck

maybe some cooldrink made it sticky and got it stuck, try a steam cleaner.

I had this happen to my PRe LCI E90. If its under motorplan, take it to BMW, let them fix it.
If it isnt, its quite simple. The dash trim (black) that sourrounds both cupholders is very easy to remove. If I am not mistaken it has 6 clips, use a plastic knife with some light leverage and it should just pop off.
The flaw is in the design actually. Because its collapsible, there is that little piece at the bottom that often clips back when you push it in, in a way that it shouldnt. This is how it gets stuck.
Removing the trim around it, is the only way to access the thing, and see whats causing the jam.
Let me know how it goes.

KIDS ! sometimes the wifey, or girlfriend....just NO respect for the cupholder !!!
happens alot with me......heres what i do :
remove the trim panel ( woodgrain or aluminium finish), use a Phillips (flat) screw diver with the front wrapped in cloth and pry the trim cover off.
Now you see the two screws holding the cup holder in place.
u should also see the sticky stuff holding the cup holder back ( LOL)
remove the two hex screws holding the cup holder (tip: a small flat screwdriver works if u dont have the hex's)
remove the holder ,it just slides out...wash the thing with a warm soapy liquid and dry thoroughly ( use a hair-dryer , don't let the girls see !)
re install !

These E90 cup-holders are pretty useless, maybe just as good, so never really use them... Hope you get it sorted out though! :thumbs:
