E90 Clutching

Can anyone advise , Is there a rule book on how to drive a e90 manual. I know about the do's and don'ts like clutching and braking in traffic rather that playing with the acceleration and clutch, but when your in slow moving traffic on an incline its hard not too_One thing that ive noticed on my e90 is that the clutch really burns and sometimes sticks when i do this and i find myself with no option but to clutch and brake at every stop.Ive owned an e30,36,46 and have never experienced this before, has anyone else experienced this ?

My wife did that once in traffic :mmm: and the clutch heated up, in first it would shudder on take off. Had BMW look at it and it was all good after it cooled down, you just need to change your driving style i guess. I know its a pain, but could end up an expensive habit.

That totally sucks , can be a real pain in an hour long traffic drive , might just be easier to get an auto.

So personally you never ride your clutch , even in traffic?

Mine is also a bit of a handful in traffic. At crawl speeds if you aren't paying attention you often get a "backlash" shunt through the drive-train - only way to prevent this is to literally keep your foot on the throttle that millisecond longer when depressing the clutch. Have read lots of people complaining about this. Also just to help the life of the gearbox/clutch I always sit with my foot off the clutch in neutral at the lights until I see the amber light or know when it's going to turn green. Even resting my hand on the gear leaver is restricted as much as possible...
