Morning all

My car has got a shudder on the clutch however this only starts after sitting a while in traffic or after driving for about 30 mins.

Its a 2009 320i

What could this be.

Any ideas.

The clutches tend to shudder nowadays. Just get it replaced under MP.

It depends how difficult BMW SA wants to be...Can be done in a day or 2...

With me they sent out someone to come assess the car to give approval.

That took a week just for the guy to come out and say approve. :bangdesk:

That's ridiculous!
It should not take more than a day to replace the clutch and flywheel.

Say what?!

mine did the same (E90 320i) and they replaced clutch, flywheel and they also did control arms, shocks and brake change for my car in one day... i think he is building in fat on the time incase they run out of time while doing it.

but if you getting a loaner, then it is fine...

it's probably the clutch delay valve you need to get use to

Sent from my HTC One X using my finger

Hi Everyone,

I purchased my first BMW last year June. It is a 2011 E90 320i Manual. Although it has relatively low mileage, 89 000 km's I have already had to replace the valve stem seals. Fortunately O Brien and the team at Paarlberg BMW did it at an excellent price. Recently I have noticed that from time to time I get a slight shudder when pulling away. Is this a very common problem and does it necessarily meN that the clutch is starting to go? I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

Since i removed the CDV its much better, The Delay valve causes the clutch to slip slowly which causes the clutch to warm up and start shuddering. Without the CDV valve you have way more controll over the clutch.

IF the car is still under motorplan then just get the clutch and flywheel replaced.

Hi Guys,

It seems as if I will have to bite the bullet so to speak and replace my clutch and DMF soon. I stay in Cape Town so I will need to find a reputable place to do the job.

Please can you let me know if you know of any places in around Cape Town and if there is any specific clutch, DMF I should request as replacement.

I drive a 2011 320i Manual.

Thanks
