E90 car keys lost!

Hi,

I've lost my e90 car keys. Luckily I have a spare set but I suppose I need purchase another set.

Are these keys expensive?

not sure bout bmw but to get spare keys for my audi is R4000+ so expect around the same

Was quoted around R2k from Tune tech to have a replacement key made.

tell the dealer to block the lost key wen u order...so take all the vehicle keys with u ...

I have purchased 1 set 2 weeks ago, key and labor I paid about R2850 by Club Motor in Randburg.
I book in first, leave my car in BMW for 1 day, and collect new key after 3 days.

find a kind looking service adviser...they did the de-programming and programming for me for free...lol so I only paid for the key..programming can cost around 300 bucks if im not mistaken..

I think insurance pays for keys lost from theft only...but normal loss I donno...give them a call..GL

Price confirmed as:
R2200 for the remote
R340 for coding
R320 to block lost key


Beginning to wonder how important this spare key is, and whether it will affect future selling/trade-in price.

phone a few bm's and speak to the service reps..see if one of them willing to code and block for free if you order the key from them...its a 5 min thing..they jus rip you off..

I have to agree. Hence I never bought my car from this Dealer, and the salesman is still sore over it. They've just lost me as a valued customer, again:thumbdo:

In case of emergency its my first choice!

Ah, that's good to hear!! Have only often seen his adverts on Gumtree and wondered - so very good option in an emergency!! :thumbs:
