Hi guys,i never thought the battery will so cheap from the dealers,auric auto just quoted me R1700 without bringing the old one,and R1500 if i bring the old one,other battery centres quoted more than 2k for a battery.

That's still expensive, VW charges R1300 for the same battery if your car is over 6yrs old and R2200 for newer cars.

Why do they charge more if your car is new and less if your car is old , for the same battery?

They have some economy parts programme where original parts for their older models are almost equal or cheaper than the aftermarket. I guess they saw how much the likes of GW was making and they want in on that market.
