E90 Battery Safety Terminal

Hi All,

My E90 (2006 320d) airbag light will not go out, I confirmed with the dealer some time ago that the terminal on the battery is faulty and this will need to be replaced.

Is there some way to bypass the terminal or put a resistor in place to make the car think the terminal is OK. The car starts, the cable has not separated.

I will appreciate the help thanks.

There was a recall for the battery terminal on the E9x series of cars. Call your dealer and enquire if your car was in that batch of cars affected.

You can replace it with a resistor, just google to the value, cant remember now.

Chances of finding one in a scrapyard is virtually nil, because most cars have at least one airbag that popped, or even a belt pre-tentioner, and if you do find them in a scrapyard, they are already sold.

I would check about the recall thing, or do the resistor, or spend the 1k at the dealers

Ive posted a thread on the n47 motors also about a recall of cam failure...not one reply yet....

Calling the dealer is a gamble in my eyes they mostly say no straight without doing a query...
