i had a 2007 320d .... so i know those cars well

i prefer the 6 cylinder bmw engines ... nothing beats the sound of a 6cylinder petrol compared to a 4 cylinder diesel...

usually the same as those tractors... crow bar usually works cosidering all that carbon oily build up diesel makes :roflol::roflol:

:fencelook::fencelook:

(guys please note... im only joking and have nothing against diesels... i know this can be a sensitive syubject but this is all a joke and in good spirits)

I myself currently drive a X5 3.0d...

so this joke about diesel is all in good spirit !!! just for the record...

Will a 6 cylinder 330d do  It has a nice little "roar" to it ... oh, and combined cycle of around 9l/100km.

FWIW, E46 330i auto in similar conditions gave me around 12l/100km.

Combined cycle on my 2005 E90 330i was around 11L per 100 and open road was in the higher 7's sometimes just over 8.

In real world terms though if you are not doing huge mileage, there really is not much difference between 9lt / 100km vs 12lt / 100km overall in a month on two or three tanks.

If you are filling up 10 times every month then it will make a difference.

So even though we have a go at you petrol guys, we dont save much more, if any with maintenance costs.

I personally just love the power delivery of the diesel and the fact that i go further between fill ups just makes me smile.

Go and test drive an E90 330d first before committing on a 330i, especially if you're in JHB.

i have done the calculation... if you buy a diesel car from new.. e.g 330d vs 330i...

only after 150 000kms does a diesel start becoming cheaper (due to diesel going further to km.)

but i feel i want a straight 6 petrol again

Forget about the economy. It's not about that.

A 330d is just an awesome car to drive

i have the X5 3.0d .. i do understand the 33od is faster as its a lighter car and has some sort of aerodynamics, not like the X5

but i remeber my e46 330i gave me no crap and i drove that car everyday with no issues for 3 and a half years...

im a liitle tired with diesels at the moment.. feel like a change :=):

talking about diesel, who has test driven the new 4.0 twin turbo bmw diesels... i heard that is something else to drive??

would love a v8.. cant afford one... do about 170km a day.

one thing that i dont like about my diesel at the moment is taht i do alot of stop/start during the day and have to warm it up for 5min then cool it down for 3min gets to me a bit
