E90 323i Clutch or what?

So my faithful E90 left me stranded on the highway..
Felt terrible shuddering then lack of power through the gears.. had to rev high to get going and next second no movement in any gear.... smelt that terrible strong clutch smell outside.
Tow truck guy reckons its clutch.
Im not sure just highly stressed.... with no mplan (2006 model 323i Sportspack) what could this be and any cost estimates from guys who had a smiliar prob before.
Suggestions on a reasonable mech (jhb booysens) area would also be appreciated.

i know around 8 years back we had 2 clutch claims on our pre lci e90 320i .. clutch, pressure plate and flywheel was 22k a pop .. thats through the agents though ...

Hi, just check with the agents before you buy the clutch, some E90's clutches have had big price drops, flywheels are a different matter though. Send me you vin and I will check what I can do for you.

FYI,

actually the clutch on this vehicle is around R3700 at the agents, flywheel is pricy at around R16 000.

Try safety brake n clutch. did mine for an older car for about R4500
