E90 320i Whine

Hi Guys,

Been lurking for a while, now time to ask advice.
My car has developed a strange whine which seems to speed up with the car. It doesn't seem to be linked to engine RPM's but rather speed of travel.

My thought was that it could be wheel bearings, but the guys recon it isn't that.

Anybody have any suggestions of where to start looking? because to get BMW to diagnose this may just bankrupt me.

If you checked the bearings then it could be your tyres as well :thumbs:

Tyres...always a good place to check if you suspect it comes from the wheels.

Does it sound like a supercharger? it could be you alternator

Is it pOssible that it could be a driveshaft or rear diff?

Does not sound like a supercharger no. More grind to the sound.
Hahaha this is like playing a bad game of sounds like..

Anyone have a recommendation for a good workshop non-BMW in Pretoria east? Think that will be a better option unless you guys enjoying this guessing game
