E90 320i steering airbag

Morning guys,

I've had a minor accident. my steering airbag popped.
Bought a new airbag to fit.
is there anything that i need to replace before fitting the airbag?
E.g Sensors/modules

Theres a seat belt thing under the seat that also goes I think , Its like a canister next to the seat . Im not sure what its called .

Check that as well . Generally if the airbag pops in an accident , a few things go at the same time I was told . Could be wrong though.

Just a module reset easily done.

As mentioned prob a seat belt pre tensioner went as well.

Technically. Nobody ever does it though. According to bmw you should replace the steering wheel as well.

thank you guys.

I'll have a look at all those though i might have to lookfor a techinical person.
The other thing i observed is that something automatically disconnects around the battery 'cos it did'nt wanna start 'til that was sorted.
i'll ask the guy who spotted that to explain further then update.
I got the airbag for R1200.

Its called the SBK or battery safety cable.

In the event of an airbag deployment, it fires a small charge that disconnects the positive supply to prevent a fire.

Yes you can push the power cable back in, but you will have an airbag light until you replace the sbk, or install a 20c resistor.
