E90 320i Engine noise

Hi All.

I recently purchased an E90 320i Manual for my wife @ Forsdicks Tygervalley.There is a very annoying noise coming from the engine(much like the sound of supercharger on Kompressor Merc's)It is more pronounced when changing gears and when I rev vehicle!

Has anybody else experienced this?Car is under motorplan but I want to gather some info before booking it in(as knowing my luck the day I take it in the noise wont be there...:thumbdo:

Sounds like an alternator bearing or fan belt that needs to be changed.

But this is just a guess from what you said above.

its either the tension pulleys or the power steering.

i had the same prob with mine, but mine was more the tension pulleys, very easy to change, you can do it yourself. you can also buy the pulleys from the stealers(not badly priced).
