E90 320i cold start problem?

Hi guys as you can see i am new here.
I have a 320i e90 and for the last week she has been giving me hell starting up.
I have been reading up on the issue and can not pinpoint the exact fault as my vehicles symptoms are not the same as what i have read so far.

When i start the vehicle cold (morning or after standing for about two hours during the day) she cranks for anything from five to ten seconds before she takes.
Then she idles very unevenly until i feed her some gas .
Thereafter she runs perfectly and starts normally .
I did notice that i do not hear the feull pump priming when i open the car doors like before.
Now i have to figure out where my problem lies .
Any idea on how i can troubleshoot this issue and repair it.
I am a diy kinda guy and would prefer not to go to a dealer for this.
Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi Andries. I think the guys would probably like an Into in the right section.

As for your problem, 2 things come to mind: Fuel Pump, Airflow Meter.

could be a number of things..

when i had a similar issue of long cranks/hard starting problems,
they replaced the fuel pressure regulator and it sorted it out
so you might want to check that as well.

I had an issue on a 120i similar to this, my case was fuel pump, best you take it in to a good mech to check it out.

Quick update.....
I just had the diagnostic done on the car and it came back with this code.
FRM/FRM2 Footwell module 6F

And it gives me these possibilities
Control relay Fuel pump
crankshaft position sensor
no message from DME/DDE
Pedal sensor potentiometer

Given what i have read this far on the net i believe that investigating the fuel pump and its controling module would be the best way forward

I think that DME/DDE Code could be why the pump doesnt prime when you get to the car but I'm not really sure of the mechanics of how that system works.

To be honest I donr know what DME/DDE means.

Good day,
Here is a quick update.
Yesterday i removed the backseat and got to the fuel pump.
I unplugged the fuel pump and tried to start the car.
She would not start at all, and when i plugged the pump back in she started.
So now i am going to investigate the fuel pressure regulator.
Can anyone tell me where it is situated and whether it is a mechanical part or electronic.
