E90 320i as a tow vehicle?

My car doesn't have a towbar at the moment, so I don't want to go drop R5k on one at BMW, then find that the car is totally unsuitable.

Theres your hint, a reason why a towbar wasn't standard fitment to an E90 320i

Well, actually I ALMOST bought one last year, a black 320i individual, with sunroof, PDC, all the goodies I wanted. :drool:
I was about to sign the papers when a black lady with a fly swatter appeared and MOER'ed my hand and said: "No-no!! Just one small cap is enough!!" :thinking:

... I took it as sign and tore up the paperwork and decided to wait for the new 328i F30 :rollsmile:

I towed a Ford laser and double wheel trailer with the e36 328i - guy said I was faster uphill than he could when he towed the trailer !!!
The e34 540i 6-speed does not have a tow bar - I thought these cars had torque !!
