Hello Beemer guys.

Please assist.

The bearing broke on my aircon compressor pully. I then fitted a second hand complete compressor which has a working bearing.

After fitting the compressor,
The car is now making a harmming noise during idle and gets louder while I drive.

What could possibly be the problem.

Your advise is appreciated in advance

Is this now with the aircon running or switched off?

I would start and spray water onto the belt (away from the aircon pulley and motor) while idle and see if the noise disappear (if it does then I will look at the pulley and the belt).

Maybe try that and maybe it will give you a better look at it. Maybe it is just dry and need some grease :tiptoe:

Hi. Thanks. This is happening while the aircon is off

Have you had the air con serviced?
Compressors require oil. Most used parts are left out standing for a period of time and it loses all its oil. Most air con regass places with vac can do this.
This is not the same as someone with a bottle doing regassing
