Now if it was me, this is the point where I walk away, imagine the service after you bought the car.

If they were honest with you from the beginning and said they need to get a few things done, understandable.

So now the question is, what are they hiding or don't want you to see?
:bat:

I dont think he is hiding anything. He did offer to bring the car to me tonight but I dont want to see the car at night.

So, what's the verdict?

I will only know on Saturday bud. Car is being serviced at Auto Atlantic right now. He said if the car is done early enough I can see it today but because Im stuck at work it'll probably only be on Saturday.

That red 320d sportspack in Joburg is R180,000. It has 80,000km on the clock. I emailed the dealer but I cant really afford that price but there's no harm in speaking to them right. But holy crap that car is a thing of beauty.

A friend of mine also looking at a 2007 330d for me but that'll obviously be even costlier and I really dont want to go over the R150,000 mark.

The E90 320d is a superb motor!

My uncles E90 320d is 4.5 years old and has just hit 300 000km on the standard turbo. The rest of the car is suffering though, its been resprayed twice, had had 3 new windscreens and gone through more rubber than most porn stars and still pulls strong!

Only services are at 30 000km and its still serviced at the dealer which is co-incidentally the only time it is ever washed too.

And this car has a rough life, it gets nailed from cold, never gets a cool down run and carries mammoth loads (Uncle is in a band so they shove 5 to 7 Keyboards in the boot at the time) and he loves it still!

These are very very good cars!

Yhoooo, that's hectic.
You know what's the sad part, guys like us who take precaution, cool down, warm ups end up loosing our turbos and have issues :thumbdo:

Yup, its insane really because its neglected and abused except for normal services at the dealer and it hauls! And its a Sportspack too! Not a single rattle!

By the way OP, keep aside R650 and get BMW to flash the latest software to the car and its modules etc as it gives you LCI power and everything just works better.

Cheapest Remap ever!

Its long distance driving, it does Cape Town to Caledon daily, sometimes twice a day too and with the cruise control set. :joy:

They are fantastic cruisers, even with the Sportspack my Uncle says it just sits and sits and when it comes to corners keeps sitting on the road.

He went through two Merc diesels in a year before buying the Beemer! :roflol:

Good luck mate!
what year is the red 320d?

Its a 2007 model. Its R175,000 but you have to add R6,000 to the cost because AA Auto is doing the sale for the owner.

My buddy told me the 2007 330d he is looking into is a silver sportspack version. If its anything under R170,000 then I'm going to go for it because well who wouldnt want 550nm of torque?

These normally go for R200k+ though

So here's to hoping

Your uncle should must have the best 320d ever created! Thats a die-hard car :praise:

Or he has lemmings or something at home that fix the car every night while he is asleep

Test drove the 320d today. Brilliant freakn car. I'm in love. Of course it drives better than my toyota but its so awesome. Theres a few small scratches and stuff bit otherwise everything is 100%. FSH and BMW did the turbo change at 80,000 km. I didnt open up the car though. Just took it to about 140 which was effortless. Turbo has 1 month left on the warranty from BMW. So theres a 90% chance I'm going to take the car. BMW financing it I think.
Must just find out the price of the 330d but the chances of that being less than the 320d are slim.
On a side note who is a good and reliable company for a BMW warranty?

Just ironing out the last few details before I accept the deal or the deal accepts me. I have 2 cars at the moment. havent ofloaded the Toyota just yet so hope that doesnt cause this deal to fail.

Anyways BMW doing the financing and they getting back to me with a quote for a Motorite aftermarket warranty as well.

Any feedback on this warranty would be appreciated

Motorite has received some good, but mostly bad reviews.

I would advise you to try and get SA Warranties. Much better operator.

Thanks for the heads up.

My friend used Zeemax and was happy with them. Other than that I have no other info. Will do a search as well.

Good grief I just read some of the reviews. Mostly bad reviews out there for aftermarket warranties.

Motor Mend and SA Warranties seem to be the best but not perfect. But I will stay away from Motorite as I have not seen 1 positive review yet.
