If you buying the car from BMW it should be pre-owned and come's with a 1 year 25000km motorplan.

If its another dealer they should give u some sort of warrenty. customer protection act

I will hear tomorrow. The seller is affiliated with BMW in Parrow. Or so he says at least. His name is Dawie something. I will find out if there is any kind of warranty but from our initial conversation it doesnt seem that way.

R25,000 for an auto box is a crap lot.

The inline six petrol motors need revs to get going quickly , the sound makes up for it .
The 320 diesels have good torque , in daily traffic driving this is better than top end power .
good luck and get any warranty on paper before taking the car , a five minute read will be better than hours of tears later .

Test drive got pushed back to today at 1:30.

Anything I should look out for?

I drive a Toyota so even a messed up BMW would drive better so it's going to be hard for me to find fault with the car.

What important questions should I ask the dealer about the car?

that should be the 130kw version of the the e90 320D...

I believe the 130 KW only came out in 2007. Mite be mistaken though.

Never the less. You cant go wrong with the Tractor.

Check Engin bay for Leaks.
Pipes for Cracks and wear.
Instrument panel for service info.
Asked them for the proof of the Turbo replacement. and check who replaced it.
Cosmetics and if you have a change get the VIN and Phone BMW and ask them what Major parts have been replaced except now for the Turbo, you will immediately know if they had to replace for ex Front side panels that the car was in a accident.

Also insist on 1000 Km Confident drive which usually is given with the car.

Best of Luck.

He should be back by now...
Come on!

Me: "Hi there. Are we still on for the test drive"

Dealer guy: "Sorry Mahdi. I am not available today as I am away from the office and the car is going to Auto Atlantic tomorrow for a service. If the car is done then you can view tomorrw otherwise I am good for Saturday"

Me: " :argh: (in my head) Ok thats fine (in reality) "

I was quite excited to see the car. I guess an extra day wont kill me.

Now if it was me, this is the point where I walk away, imagine the service after you bought the car.

If they were honest with you from the beginning and said they need to get a few things done, understandable.

So now the question is, what are they hiding or don't want you to see?
