So I had to get rid of my 350000+km E90 320d for obvious reasons....and upgraded to a F20 120d motorsport

Totally inlove with the newer tech compared in the F20, not missing the E90 at all!

Very nice upgrade. Congrats and many happy miles to you.

Also that's some good mileage out of your 320d.
Interested to know how it was owning that car as well. Reliability wise and Was it still on original turbo when you sold it.

Congrats!

The F-series is a nice upgrade in technology etc, that 120d should also give you some really, really good consumption as well!

Congrats, what a beauty. Not easy to find a clean 120d at a fair price. Enjoy the ride

The 320d was great performance wise, I had a set of 19inch narrows and wides on it so it the handling was also always there

Reliability was good, just oil changes and filter changes every 15000km. Turbo bearings gave in on the original turbo at 340000km, bought a new core for R1400ish and swapped it out, more boost instantly so it felt newer haha and the starter died about a week after I replaced the turbo core, replaced the brushes for R160 and sold it the next day before something else broke

But for something with 350k on the clock it was a great car

Boot space is more or less the same, the hatch just allows you to reach in slightly easier. And my F20 has the cargo net on the boot floor and grocery bag hangers in the side and all so it's much nicer than the E90. Also went from grey carpets to black, big bonus.

Leg space in the F20 is slightly less, but seats are more comfortable and they fold over to alow for more loading space if need be.

Thanks, I love the new one. Hopefully it lasts longer than the E90

Congrats. How huge is the difference in fuel consumption?
Quite a large difference, the 8speed auto in the F20 allows you to average about 20+km/L. If I remember to take my foot off the pedal on down hills the car will coast on speed limit and the consumption will go upwards of 30km/L

Thanks, it has a couple of minor scratches here and there with the odd rock chip or two, but having those fixed within the next couple of weeks. I've been looking for a while and finally found this one

This is crazy. You got 340k km's off the original turbo. You must've really taken care of that car. Fills me with confidence with my 320d since I'm only on 135k. I guess my car has just been run in then. Well done man. :smilebounce:

Yeah just take care of it, service it regularly and make sure it always has clean oil and enough coolant then it should run for many years to come.

Try and find an OEM crank dampener pulley ahead of time as they do eventually die unfortunately. I forgot to mention I had to replace it at 300k. Apparently they last up to 150k but guess I'm lucky
