Hey all,

Wondering if some can help me with the following problem on the wifes car.

When pressing the accelerator the revs jump from 2000rpm to about 3500 rpm and then the turbo "catches" and bolts.

I am thinking clutch slipping/boost leak.
Gonna take it in this wknd but would like to know if anyone might know what the problem is.

Apologies if I do not respond to any replies as I will be on the road to KZN today - Will log in tomorrow morning and check updates

Thanks.

Hi bud can you give more detail please. Presume its a manual.

This can be a number of issues.

Need more to go on. Is there any errors displayed on the obc.

Yep - Manual 2007 E90 320D.
No display errors - Thats the reason I have been asking.

The turbo does work but like I say but the car accelerates normally up to about 2000rpm but if I press the accelerator to the floor the revs jump to 3500rpm like I am holding the clutch in and then just "catches" the turbo and the car flies forward.

Main reason I am leaning to clutch slip though there are no problems with changing gears or any shuddering.

Thanks Dippies.

Seems like your clutch is slipping. Well if that is the case and it is the clutch take a look at the dual mass flywheel as well while the gearbox is out. You also mite consider a cdv clutchdelay valve delete while you at Iit.
Search the foru for this topic cdv delete and it will explain the reason why.
Maybe you should start there first with a cdv delete before anything els.

I am no expert bud best you get gizmo's opinion about it. I only sheard what I have learned. I did not have the ti e to take out my own gearbox. So I would be in a better position to aid you, when my clutch gave me problems.

Guy at works E46 320D was doing something very similar, turned out to be a faulty injector. (But felt just like a slipping clutch)

Best to get any faults read and take it from there.

Thanks Speedy - No error codes on the obc so rather gonna take it and get it checked out.

Will take it from there.
