E90 320d PDC Sensors

Hi there,

I recently got a 2005 E90 320d (manual) and have a small problem with the rear packing sensors. They just dont work. I have searched on the internet and cant find any proper solutions. The car doesnt have an i-drive nor the button on the center console for swicthing the PDC on/off. I have tried putting the key fob in and putting the car in reverse and i cant hear any sounds from the sensors or feeling with my finger like i could do with my previous E46.

Could this be a sign that the sensor are dead or there is a loose connection somewhere. I am also failing to trace the fuses as the car didnt come with fuse layout diagram. So if there is anyone who has it i will be glad if you can post it.
Alternatively if there is a similar post on the faulty PDCs may you kindly send me the link.

Thanks in advance

Thanks JG_RSA,
I have just checked with a friend, you got it right this time:clapper::praise::clapper:
I will have to check if the fuses are still ok because when i engage into reverse the sensors dont activate

maybe the car didnt come with PDC, and the previous owner replaced the rear bumper with a bumper which has PDC!!! just a thought!!

first have the VIN checked to see if the vehicle was built with PDC

I have the same issue, I've replaced my headunit with a aftermarket one and upgraded all the speakers and since that upgrade the PDC stopped working, did a diagnostic scan and no errors came up, can it be that the beeping sound of the PDC is connected to the stock speakers?

Hi Poscent, if convenient to get to the East Rand I can have a look for you.

@zhandre, you need the stock radio for PDC to work.

I am in East Rand. Kempton Park to be specific. We could meet tomorrow if you not busy

I am not sure Diesel Fan. Will the results differ with the type of diagnostic equipment used?
