E90 320d not starting

Came home to both Bmw's parkled outside. Strange as there is space in the garage for the new one. Mom informs me the 2005 e90 does not want to start.
I figure the wheel is just locked or she isn't depressing the clutch as she does that sometimes.

Smugly I put in the key fob, depress the clutch aaaaand. NOTHING.
:thumbdo:

We don't need the car right now but this is worrying nonetheless.
Any ideas on what could be causing it?

To be clear the engine does not even attempt to turn over and I don't see any abnormal lights on the dash (no glow plug light for example). There is however a faint click when you press the start engine button?

It has had problems with electricals before, endless tire pressure warnings an occasionally the ABS lights would come on and dissapear when restarted.

Did you check the battery. If you can try and use another e90 battery to try and start the car

Car has been standing for a while now, diagnosed as starter motor by a guy with a fault reader.

Could I remove the starter motor myself? Quite a well stocked garage as far as trools and torx bits are concerned.

Had the no start 'clicking' issue on both my 1 series and 3 series. Both times it was a dead battery.

Whatever the problem, let us know when you fix it!
