E90 320d N47 Running Temperature

Hi All,

I replaced the EGR thermostat yesterday.

I set the display to show me the coolant temperature,
I had a drive of about 30km on open road with no traffic and the temperature was on 70 on long downhills and went up to 74 on long uphill.
This seems very low, what should the temperature be?

What readings are those of you with the 320d getting?

E90 320d N47 Engine.

That does sound cold. I think ideal is around 85 - 90.

You'll probably find that your main thermostat is bust.

Ideally is should be between 90 and 110 on a diesel as they run hotter than petrol variants , it is running cold.
