I got 5.2 on my trip down to EL, cruise control on 140km/h. around here in city traffic I get 5.7-5.8

DAMN IT! How so light in town????

Suppose because I mostly take it easy, cause cant do much in traffic, but lately its higher around town, cause I keep flooring it, now sitting at 6.5l/100km.

Its favorite meal is rear tires.

Mine climbs in traffic, she hates traffic...think i need to do injector flush perhaps...car still feels tight....

two stroke, and no I dont mean those two strokes. :tease:

HA HA HA!!! Stout kind!! Where can i get 2 strokes from?

Ash the Auto's don't like traffic, they tend to sip a bit more in town :=):

Ja i see that, but nevertheless, i still got 700km and the needle is on 1/4 tank now, i am so happy right now, i could poop roses!!!

Did another trip

Down - 5.6 l/100km avg speed 128km
Up - 6.3l/100km avg speed 134km

Didn't use speedo cruise, and wasn't trying for economy. Just serviced the week before the trip. I'm happy with the consumption. Avg speed is what the obc said, I reset when leaving 1 driveway and check again when i enter the next, so it includes urban driving.

Did the first run in December with my stock 09' 320d LCI, mileage at the time around 118 000km I think
5.3l/100km going down
5.4l/100km coming up
Was blown away when I got to my destination, 610km later & still had between 1/2 & 1/4 tank ! No halfway fillup as mentioned - my vrou was freaking out in Bergville
CC set on 130km/h but opening up here & there when safe
Driving time around 5 & a half hours

I get same sort of consumption going down but daily traffic to work my consumption sucks big time, between fourways and randburg i get close to 10/100km. avg speed 33km.

curious to know the guys that do similar avg speed daily in traffic what does your consumption look like?

I do roughly 100km a day in HEAVY Jozi traffic, average speed usually around 31km/h for the week. Average consumption around 7.9l/100km on my auto, but drops to under 7l/100km during quiet periods like school holidays. But then I'm usually using my other car anyway

that sounds very light for those conditions.

i only do 12km each way,

Im suprized by some of the figures posted

When I had my 135, I got 7.1l / 100kms when I drove it down from JHB to DBN.

And that was with no plates hitting 2XX at times

Full tank lasted 750kms. Whatever fuel I had left when I got to dbn I finished pretty quick the next day

My route is Wilgeheuwel-Marlboro-Sandton-Rosebank-Marlboro-Wilgeheuwel each day. In peak hours. Usually climbs up noticeably in the gridlock that is Sandton but then get it down once on the highway, even in traffic

but you get to do some highway driving? I think that helps your consumption. i hardly get to drive 60 for more than 15 seconds,

not bad, my best to dbn was 4.1/100km and that was at 140km/h cruise control also.

before that when i was still excited about the power of the car and the car was stock, it did 4.6l/100km constantly.

:praise: I don't know how you guys get this amazing consumption...

Can't remember my consumption on my e46 330d (too long ago) but so far I'm not getting close to what you guys are getting.

I can't really speak of average consumption just yet (only have my wheels about a week now  ) but I seem to get between 8.5 l/100km to 9 l/100km in town. Got about 6.1 l/100km going to Montecasino the other night to meet up with @ri.

In Durban right now, I did 600km. Still haven't reached half tank yet. My range shows 600km left. Got 5.3km / 100. Coming down. First trip to Durban with a diesel and man did I enjoy it. Effortless driving experience. Only had one stop. The car basically drives itself.

I was surprised to see 1000km as I was driving for the first hour on the highway the range just kept climbing. When I was about 1hour away from durbs to range started climbing again I assume because I was down healing towards sea level?
