Attempting to revive this thread, OP referred to an actuator test to see that the actuator is able to move in increments of 10%, anyone have any idea how to run this test? Do I need INPA?

Hi Guys,

Has anyone ever had their E90 320d go into limp mode,

Mine is doing this quite often and its so frustrating as i dont know whats wrong,

From 1000rpm to about 3800rpm there is nothing and then all of a sudden booooost, i notice the exhaust gets a deeper sound when this happens too,

Then ill pull over and switch the car on and off again for a few secs then its fine...

Some days its normal and then some this limp mode happens

Any suggestions,
Hi there , i just started having the exact same problem , limp mode , no boost , then all of a sudden its back to normal , then limp mode again .
Took it for diagnostics , they pick up boost pressure actuator ( but then the mechanic says he must check everything ) , another mechanic i spoke to said check all the hoses for leaks .
I also unplugged the MAF sensor about 2 months ago , because car runs better without it , could this also cause limp mode and no boost .
Please help
