I didn't buy the car brand new so maybe it has some tweaks (although I doubt the lady raced it hehehe)?
Maybe it is just a Wednesday car or my driving technique works well on a TDi?
I ran a Golf5 GTi (not sure what spec) on Sunday afternoon and was ahead!! I was really shocked.

Will only really know what this car is capable of when I do the SW and DP
Busy researching and looking for a good SW supplier

You won't go wrong there dude. Yup, maybe it was mapped and/or perhaps decatted & you just don't know about it? Mapped Cupra TDi should easily run in front of stock mk5 GTI. For sure dude, give me a holler once the groceries are on board.

The 320d is very strong. I personally own a chipped 320d and hand out hidings to G5 GTi's regularly. But recently actually got outrun by a Golf Mk1 2.0!! (labelled 1.4i) After 2 runs the guy admitted to running a meth setup and throttles. But yeah, a 1 ton car will always be quicker off the line than a 1.5ton car.

Although being RWD with mega torque does tend to negate that aspect to some extent. I do know that a mapped diesel Beemer calls for a completely different launch technique vs. a stocker though. I would be most interested in knowing how the owner of the freshly mapped Xcede 320d in this thread launched his car on the day and whether it was a manual or a Steptronic 320d?
