E90 320D - Central Locking problem ?

Advice sought. 2006 BMW E90 320D. Suddenly both key-fobs no longer lock or unlock the car. I can manually unlock and start using the key but the central locking doesn't respond to the key action in the door. Button on dash to lock/unlock doors also not responding ? Any (informed) ideas ?

you might have an ssue with the control module... or the batteries in the fobs might be a little flat.

i would start by replacing the batteries and re initiating them

Batteries in the keys became ubsolute. That is my guess.

Thanks for the response - however - that won't explain why the dash button won't lock/unlock the doors ?

Is it easy to replace the batteries ?

Try disconnecting the battery terminal in the boot for 30 mins then reconnect

This will reset everything

check the fuses also ... the e90 has problematic door actuators, one of them may have blown the fuse, this could explain the problem.

I will check and verify - thanks...

Keep an eye on that fuse, the pre-lci has faulty door actuators, they tend to keep blowing the fuses. Had that problem on my 323i, actuators was replaced under motorplan.

I once looked for the fuse box, I found it behind the cubby, I tried to see what was happening, I gave up so quickly and ran away I cant see anything in there, lol

This happened to me 2 weeks ago.
Turned out i blew 2 fuses (36 & 37 i think?)
but once the fuses were replaced, it would only work again after i disconnected the battery for a while.
Im sure this will help
