E87 120D Radiator Fan Query

Howsit guys, I'm fairly new to this forum. I need some advice please. I have a 120D, non LCI... My radiator fan unfortunately packed up, I'm from Durban and tried virtually everywhere for one and can't really get them. I'm avoiding the stealers haha... I want to know, although I have a diesel, would a 130i or a 125i fan work well with my engine? I've seen a few on gumtree and they look the same as mine, but I'm just worried about the whole petrol vs diesel thing, cause when my radiator needed replacing a while back after it got punctured, the place I bought it from specifically asked if I have a diesel or petrol, so I'm assuming there's a difference with the fan too?

Please help, my coolant is consuming a lot of water lately and had the car serviced about 3 months ago. I suspect the radiator is giving in and hoping you can share some light as to what to look out for before taking it to the mechanic.
