E83 X3 Service - Where to go

Gents,

I need to do a 90 000km service on my 3.0i E83 X3. The dealership is going to charge me an arm and a leg, is there anyone reliable and reasonable you guys can recommend around the Joburg area.

I also notice that when going uphill in second and third gear in full throttle the car jerks or misses, but this only happens uphill in full throttle, not sure what it could be. Also the fuel consumption is crazy, 17-18l/100km

Will appreciate you guys help, not too familiar with BMW mechs.

Thanks

Hi Farhad

Vernon at Rev's Auto in Kya Sands knows what he's doing.
Call him on 084 592 9962

He looks after my E38 740i, X5 V8 and a 325i.

The heavy fuel consumption is probably due to the Vanos seals that have failed. I bet your car is lazy too.

Get your mech to change the Vanos seals while the car is being serviced, it will transform the car.

I don't know any indy workshops in Jhb, but have you actually asked the dealership for a quote? You might be pleasantly surprised.

Lastly, this forum is very useful. There is no need for a newbie member to be sarcastic, it sets the wrong tone.
