e83 x3 2.5 shocks and control arms

Hi all,

I recently bought a 2005 x3 e83 with 161k on the clock. its good honest car but I need to fix a few things on it. My budget is tight at the moment. I want to start with the front shocks and control arms. Do you know where i can get a decent brand for a good price or a good honest mechanic who can do the work. I stay in Joburg westrand.

Can i ask a stupid question, what are oem parts as opposed to lets say parts from my local goldwagen?

OEM parts are from the same suppliers that BMW use for original fitment. Goldwagen typically sell aftermarket parts from other suppliers, but sometimes also OEM suppliers.
