I need to replace the oil filter housing gasket on a 2.0 diesel so bought it and the heat exchanger gasket. I've searched youtube etc for a procedure guide but very little has come up for the M47 engine I wanted to know if the heat exchanger is only attached to the oil filter housing and if it can be removed as one unit. Saw a video on youtube of a guy removing it as one piece on a 120d with same engine however a manual I saw on the web seems to say it two pieces and you need to remove the glow plug module as well to get at the heat exchanger. There's not a lot of room to work and it looks like I need to move quite a lot of parts around to make space to do the job.
Anyone done this job and have any pointers to make it as easy as possible?
