E82 Tablet holder

I am so tangging along for this! I want to do it on my 135. Question though. Seems that no one can give me a actual answer(that includes BMW themselves).

The M badge on the car. Is that an aftermarket mod or do certain models come like that?

Last time I asked people told me that only the 1M has just the M badge and the M135s in the E82 chassis were people who like stickers........

Soooo I have seen too many that it can be just a sticker? Please do list the details for this. Very interested in this mod.

The F20 Msport 135i comes with the ///M badge, not sure about this model. But who cares, this topic has been done to death. If somebody wants it let them have it. There's a whole thread on it somewhere that I started ages ago with a huge amount of replies. Discuss it there rather.

As for the tablet mod, very interesting. I wonder if the final cost of the tablet, wiring, and this unit is ultimately worth it? The big screen will be awesome for navigation, but is there no official navigation pack? Probably costs an arm and a leg though.

This is an interesting idea, as I've also been looking at that space in the dash for holding a multimedia device. The holder looks cool, but is it easily removable, sort of like a docking station. With tablets we always want to load new content, via micro-sd card, so how would that work?

Good point. From the pics I have seen it does not look as it would be possible. But then a gain you could always transfer content via your phone like Samsung Beam on relevant devices or some kind of third party software. I am looking into setting up my phone as a hotspot when I enter the car. This will allow me to use Google voice commands and GPS. I wonder if GPS would be available on the device without mobile data...

As for the cost you would be interesting. I am sure with enough research and DIY this could be a viable option. A second hand navigation screen is like R7k -R10k. The other option would be the Android double din.

Hi Guys
Just an update
sorry this took so long, i work out of sa and hardly get time to spend with my 135i

So i found a cheaper alternative to the whole reftro fit oem style tablet holder

I purchased a holder off amazon.com
like so
https://www.amazon.com/APPS2Car-Mag...d=1500456304&sr=8-4&keywords=cd+tablet+holder

Just stick the magnetic tab behind tablet, holder inserts into your cd player

As for the cables, i have a fix
There is a bluetooth device you can purchase that plugs into the AUX input of the car, tested, works fine and the sound quality is great as well
There are options from amazon.com but your local China mall is better
I have bought an adapter off amazon, got home didnt work, China mall R200 and the rest was history
https://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics-B...463&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=bluetooth+aux&psc=1

This can be used at home on your Home sound system if you would like to stream music from your phone as well..maybe get 2, one for the car and one for the home
Device also requires a charge now and again

NEXT, tablet layout
I will post a pic of the home screen i have on
You can download apps from the pay store that uses an oem feel layout
I have one that has the BMW logo with the GPS, Audio and Call Log intergrated onto home screen

The only thing you need to do is remove tablet when done and charge, we live in SA after all, i dont want to temp somebody to take the Tablet on my behalf

HINT:get a tablet slightly larger than 7 inches, SIZE does matter
Also get one with 3g and WIFI
I find this a lot easier to use, if you want to hotspot from your mobile phone, its okay as well

Next Install will be the JB4 bluetooth interface to link the tablet and get more features from in car

im in the process of creating one for myself. just need to get the holder and a power converter so that it can charge the device quite quickly while in use as the stock USB port will no get that right.

Im gonna go with the OEM looking holder but thats a personal preference.

Greets,

I am very keen on this holder. Is German eBay the only place where we can get this?

Correct the holder is only available in Germany and they only ship local in Germany

need to make use of a shipping service like Amarex Global Shopper or even Parcel Hero
