E82 N55 build advise

Hoezit, I’m a long time owner of a 2011 135i, the E82 shape with the N55 engine, which I owned from new. Love the car, not sure I could ever sell it.

Some history, SAC did an aggressive map and built an exhaust for it (They also blew the ECU loading new software and had to cough up for a new one free. I don’t use them anymore).

Recently I popped the charge pipe, when BMW told me it would be more expensive to get and fit a plastic OEM part, I ordered a COBB metal charge pipe instead and installed it myself. Now I have a COBB sticker on the rear window, which, I’ll be honest, looks super sexy.

I've been a PURE TURBO groupie for years now, aiming long term at something like that. Assuming I'm going to have to upgrade almost everything getting there. It's going to take a while.

Anyway, a mate and I had a discussion about the next logical step (after making sure the car is still 100%). He says I should take the plunge and get a JB4 now. I’m thinking the shocks also might need replacing, maybe an opportunity to lower slightly. There must also be other ways to get more power, a performance intake could give me maybe 15hp, but he tells me the JB4 maybe allows me to tune tons more, what do you okes think is the next best step for me? What are the options? Recommendations?

Downpipe and JB4, will be the best decision you ever make

Ok thanks, I will do that... I think SAC's tune was rumored to put me around 300wkw, but I'm not sure I can believe anything they tell me... but yeah...I'll make the down-pipe the first thing long with a oil catch... seems do-able in the short term... JB4 can come further down the line...

Hey bud.

Once the mod bug bites, you won't be able to stop.

Here is my step by step I am busy with. (there are many guys on the forum that have way more experience and have chosen different paths but I am comfortable with this.)

I have bought a charge pipe, Downpipe, JB4 and BMS Intake (This is mainly for the noise).
I have the BMW performance exhaust and performance power kit on the car currently.
I should have my Front mount intercooler and oil catch next month.

I have been waiting for the Motorplan to end so I can install everything but I have been collecting things as I go.

I ideally want to go Full bolt on in one go to see the difference between 'stock' and FBO.

The N55 E82 platform I have been told can reach 300wkw+ with a stage 1 hybrid turbo and FBO, without this +-260wkw is possible depending on the car and the mods.

As TheMo said above, get the JB4 and Downpipe if you can't buy most of the stuff up front. The car will come alive and will sound amazing. Very good start.

Interesting... I've never driven a 135i and thought to myself.... hmm could use more power, having said that, I haven't lived with one long enough to get used to the power. That could change very soon tho ;)
