It was around R800 hey....
You must look at the pics i took from it with the nav holder. doesnt flip up and down, but it does look right..doesnt look like it doesnt belong there..and i am not even done.
Sorry for the huge delay since updates on this thread.
Today I finally finished the plugin for RadioShark. Now i can listen to the radio from the car PC aswell as pause, rewind, record and so on live radio.
Also put two small buttons behind the wiper switch. use them for prev and next tracks. Dont want to tap into ibus for the orginal buttons...to much motorplan kak.
I also redid the software for the i/o board so that it supports inputs as well as the outputs (gates, garages)
Ari, you should have a look at how it looks without the propper CID. it does look real neat.

For the gates I am using a k80555 (velleman) board. Its a kit that u buy and have to build.
It is a input output board with 8 digital outputs, 2analog outputs, 5 digital inputs and 2 analog inputs.
It comes with a dll, so its easier to write software to control it.
So as it had transistor grounding outputs, I have also build a board with 8 relays (for the digitak outputs). These relays are connected to a physical remote of mine. So it basically simulates a button press when u click on the screen. (In my case a 2 second pulse of the button) .

Oh forgot to say. I also use 2 of the digital inputs for stering control.
I monitor the 2 buttons, and do a nxttrack or prevtrack based on it. Decided to ass extra buttons so I dnt have to tap into car original wiring, hence voiding mplan.

How much does the bracket go for and where did you buy it from? BMW SA prob want an arm and a leg.
Also that lilliput screen. Available locally or from mp3car? Any other local alternatives I could use? Not too keen on the liliput screen look from the pictures for some reason. The buttons underneath look a bit cheap. However maybe it would be better to see it close up

Screen from mp3 car. Hmmm u can't see the buttons the way I mounted. U also don't need the buttons. Gt it to set to power on and off based on power.
R550 from bmw for the gps mount. Thjey had to bring from germany as they had no stock
Ya there are alternatives locally. Mini-box.co.za or minibox.co.za.
If u doing one, are more the willing to help u out with it where I can.
