E65 750i or 760i, which is the better option to buy?

Hi guys
For a while now I am looking for a car to replace my E39 M5. I want a car that is solid and safe with a bit of performance as well. I also like "tierlantyntjies" in a car and now I have decided on a E65 7 (750/760)series car.

There is a very nice 760i for sale with less than 60 000km for 2006 model, but for the same price I can get a later model 750i with less kilometers.

What is your opinion, go for the 760i 2006, or go for a later 750i.

Cheers

I saw a beatiful B7 for sale in Skinner Street Pretoria... I drive a 745i and would give an arm, a leg and anything else to buy the car...

This is a hard one.

THe 735 all the way up the to 750 share the N62 variant of a motor, yea they do differ somewhat, but same basic design.

The V12 on the other hand is a unique beast, so theoretically, the spares should be cheaper on the N62 variants, keeping in mind that the N62 is used in the 545 and 550 as well.

With that in mind, I would say 750, however a chat with Werner the other day reveals that the 760 is an amazing engine, and super reliable.

Safe money is to go for the 750, but that 760... oh my sausage...

Just make sure that its a post 2004 model, and if you buy either one, its mandatory that I take it for a spin...

I love the E65, and will own another soon......

However, go find a E60 550 in manual...

Do not discount the 730d either, torque monster of note, and 10L/100 all day every day.

Thanx guys, will let you know what I decide, but I am very biased towards the 760i, not many around to choose from though.
