BE Bearings with OEM rod bolts(new of course), finish and kla

BE Bearings if your budget allows as they have addressed some of the known issues.
Second option is Agents.
If you go the BE route get ARP rod bolts if not get OE bolts.

Would run it to 200 000 Kms with those bearings.
Provided the engine is hot before being driven hard and oil changes happen every 10000Kms.
I might then use a 0W40 with Ceratec for added performance.
I am not advocating that others do the same merely my opinion if I were to drive one.
BeemerFanatic said:From learning on this forum, Buying a second hand M car definitely needs new bearings no matter what's the mileage because you don't know how the car was treated, warmed up, oil services etc. also once done you need to take care of the car, warm up the engine, do regular oil changes
Also do a gearbox check / service. I just found out brakes on an M is like 30k
Wow makes me wonder if I will ever be able to afford any M car.

Budget R30K for OE and R40k for BE.

Ok..have they not changed the specs of the bearings for better clearance? Sorry i am not as technically minded as you guys but i am trying to get an idea. I read somewhere that measured OE bearings have changed over time & there is more clearance.
individj said:i see Tune Tech are of the opinion that the stock bearings don't have enough clearance as in its too wide.
