E61 M5 TOURING

Hello All,

In December while driving in Durban, i spotted a E61 touring in black with GP plates,if i did not have the family with me and he could drive a bit slower:biglol:, i would have so much wanted to see more of the car, i drive a E46 Touring with a AC Schintzer kit, so hence me wanting this car now.

How common are these cars in SA and does anybody know if there are any for sale, i have searched and read the older post and searched on the internet as well, but can't seem to find any.

Can anybody help

I only know of like 5 E61 tourings in SA. They werent officially brought in AFAIK

Beat me to it... was going to mention this as well.....
Was on for a while but don't see it listed currently. May be worth calling them to find out. (dealer based in Hurlingham - border Randburg/Sandton - end of Republic rd)

He has been in DBN for about 2 years with the car on GP plates. A really nice black guy owns it, think he daily drives it aswell.

I saw the car at Monte Carlo when I was shopping. They were asking 499K and would not budge, but the car came out of plan whilst it was there and they dropped to 449K (which is a bit less than what I'd offered). Beautifully kept car. They intially told me the car was sold, then I saw it advertised again 2 weeks later and enquired about the price drop. It seemed to sit there because the owner was abroad (BMW M5-GP) and I don't think they could get hold of him to answer my questions or my offer. I know there were several guys interested and who had also tried to make offers. Sure he would have bitten at 459 rather than have to deal with 449 a short while later. He took the car back upon his return.

I think it was the only space grey in the country and depending on who you speak to there were 5-7 tourings brought in in total. This one had M6 rims factory-fitted. Best is to give them a shout and see what the latest is on that car. Owner may be contactable again. I saw it driving around Woodmead/Khyber Rock before

I gave them a call and car was sold a long time ago, the salemens could recall the vehicle i was talking about, as if i would believe that.

I am going to wait and look around, if its meant to be it will come my way again.:tiptoe:

I'll need to take some .. It's our families daily ride perfect for my twins and work trips - the car is a absolute highway monster - put the car in sport mode and it overtakes with ease - followed a new S4 and I feel I could easily keep up with him when he puts foot to overtake and I follow him - with 7.5lt per 100 averaging 120 - 140kph...

Not better car when doing highway trips...

Also this car is strange ... The exhaust is so clean I can see the silver material of the exhaust on the inside of the exhaust - No black soot whatsoever - the car does not smoke under any circumstances... Very unusual for a diesel - I followed this car all the way home with my wife driving it and it was as if I was following a petrol car...
