E60 Noizy Sun roof fixed

Before attempting this fix myself I did a bit of Google research and found a lot of bla bla bla on the subject. Everything from replacement of all the seals by the dealer to one guy advising not to attempt anything sins it is an unsolvable problem.
The fact is that it is a simple solvable problem. I have included pictures that I took with my cell phone so sorry about the quality.
What I did was to remove the rubber covers on the inside of the roof and using a hexagon Allen key attach to a small ratchet I loosened the 3 nuts on each side of the opening mechanism. The roof is attached to the opening mechanism with vertical slots that allow for height adjustment. On one of the forms I was advised that the front of the sun roof must be 1 ml below the roof and the back must be 1 ml above the roof. This did not solve my noise problem.
The only thing that worked was to go to the open road and drive test the noise level after each adjustment.
After setting the sun roof to app 2 ml above the roof in front and level in the back I got the best results.
So now for the first time I can drive at 120km plus with the sun roof cover open without going mad from the noise.

No it’s easy to do.

Just remove the rubber covers on the sides on the underside of the sunroof from the inside of the car. You will see three hexagon Allen key screws on each side of the raising mechanism.

Ones you have loosened these you can raise or lower the roof easily.
