Fellow motorist,

I would apreciate any comments on above my 520d E60 's Motorplan is expiring in the next 6 months or sooner considering I am on 85000 k already so call it march / April 2014 and the online quote from BMW SA' s Owners Circle website is around R2.00 a km ( just over R20k for 10,000 km or 1 year or R30k for 15,000 km and a year )
To me this is high but then again modern turbo diesel automatic things can go wrong ???
Any advise welcome.

My 530d is on 243 or something, and has never given a day's hassle.

I just spent about 7k on it.

With that I replaced waterpump, thermostat, filters, coolant, EGR, belts, all tensioner pulley's, drive belts,

This was original agents parts.....

I will climb into that car and go do a cape town trip and back without evening thinking about.

Tx valuable input as most times  I am a firm believer in genuine parts at all times it is the labour costs from dealers that scare me. Regardless perhaps I will stash the 20k in Satrix and cross all fingers and everything else possible that should things go wrong I will manage.Electronic components , turbos and gearboxes are scariest for me.

You should be able to extend it just by another year which would give you 15 000kms till you hi 100 000kms. Which is closer to R7000

But the car is still very low mileage its unlikely something major will happen.

Might be best to just try get them to replace as much as possible before motor plan expires and then just put the money you would have spent for the extension into an account.

Also just remember BMW don't make all their parts. So you can get "Original" parts under the actual manufacturers branding for a whole lot cheaper...
