E60 engine wanted

Hello Fans
I am looking for help on the bmw 525i E60 engine . I have dropped piston hole through the block . I am looking for replacement engine . I am told the M52TUB28 will fit . Is this a good option or should I look for another M54B25.
Is there any other engine models that would fit this car ?

Unless you are planning a whole array of mods and custom engine management, etc DO NOT install any other type of engine other that the one your car came with.

If you do it will open up a can of worms that will set you back the national budget of Madagascar.
