E46 vs E39 as daily driver

search for an E39 530D, preferrably with a Sportspack. Awesome cars, Great power to be had from a diesel with great fuel economy.

E39 most definitely. Tried and tested for 3 years and still running.

I am sitting here, wanting to reply to this post, and then it hit me: I don't know which one I would choose.

The e46 might be cheaper to maintain yes, and these days parts are a dime a dozen from scrapyards. I am not so sure about the e39. Then again the e39 is bigger, with a very nice size boot, and more comfy.

Me personally, I love the e46 330i, but if I had the choice today, I would opt for the e39 (family of 4, having to cart the pram around etc.)

But... but... the e46 is such an involving drive..... ooohhhhh, I am so glad I don't have to choose.

That's because BMW stop building them like they used to after the E46 and E39 ..... choosing between the E46 and E39 is like choosing between the best 2 cars on the planet.

When the E90 and E60 came along it was like choosing between the 2 ugly sisters after Cinderalla (E46/E39) had gone off to live happily ever after :hammerhead:

I would personally take E46 becoz i have one lol and its Great!! 2003 model and not one problem yet :joy: But both of them are amazing cars!! and it will be hard to choose unless one just attracts you abit more raise:
