Well first of all, welcome to the forum... Its always a good idea to introduce yourself first :=):

TBH that sounds like the right kind of performance from a 318 :dunno:

Good day

Firstly you are not allowed to drive 160km/h on a public road, so why worry if it takes long to reach that speed when you aren't supposed to drive that fast anyway?? :dunno:

That said, there isn't really too much you can do to a 318i to make it fast, without going the turbo route, or doing an engine swop to something bigger.

Might be easier to rather upgrade to a 325/328/330i instead and modify from there. :thumb:

unless it takes VERY long to reach 160 there is nothing wrong with it other than it is missing 2 cyl :fencelook:

remember this is the smallest engine to come in the e46 you cant really expect it to be fast...

did you actually time them? the BMW is alot more insulated you wont feel the speed in the same way :)

your e46 will do 0-100 in about 9sec

the Fiat is what about 11-20sec?

the e46 should be faster and probably is you just not feeling it... if there was a problem with the engine it should also manifest in high fuel consumption but yours is about right

There is not much you can do with a 318i...I know there previous e36 318 motor was vey good for turbo charging it.
