From what year does the E46 come out with the MP3 player?

Mine has 08/2004 date stamp on it. My part #65 12 6 943 435

Hmmm... i have a standard one, but i believe you can get software uploaded to them??? ... how much is it to pick an mp3 one up for? Plus my display is not too clear , quiet dull...

so all 2005 will def have one installed? Reason for asking is i was asking a bmw dealer and said that it never came out on the E46 only E90. I just smiled

I just read on Wikipedia that the CD Chuttle became mp3 compatible from the 2005 models.

Can anyone confirm this?
