If I understood correctly Andy1 suggested just removing the fan completely?

How would that work?

Always drive with the a/c on?

it would work exactly the same if you wire it in correctly.

The only difference is once it starts up it wont steal hp from the motor

You are using the AC fan but installing an additional fan and removing the viscus fan.

Make sure you keep the radiator cowl

here is how you connect a fan on the radiator

That is correct.

The AUX fan for the AC in front is wired into the cooling system as well, so it will switch on by itself if the coolant temp reaches a certain temp even without switching the AC on.

This works, and the car can be run without a viscous completely..... if you live in Europe.

However - I would not do it with my own car, because the AUX fan is barely adequate for our SA climate.

For instance - If you have been thrashing the car, and suddenly got stuck in traffic, with the AC on on a hot 35deg day, I dont think the AUX by itself is going to be sufficient. Its going to be borderline, but I wouldn't risk it.

Try and make a normal e46 pull fan work in conjunction with the AUX fan. But it wont be plug and play
